Now, before I chicken out, a fic prompt. Pick one of the lyrical prompts and give me a character/pairing and, optionally, a more concrete prompt (e.g. "first kiss" or "after the season finale"). I will attempt to write something short for you.

I will get my medicine tomorrow. Also, I have been finding it fairly easy to write short fic lately. So, for the first time in a long time, let's try a fic prompt.

Fandoms I can write for at the drop of a hat: Gundam 00 (obviously), Gurren Lagann, possibly Macross Frontier.

Fandoms I can give a shot: Roleplay-based stuff, Persona 3 (maybe 4?), Fruits Basket, Avatar, Deep Space 9, Babylon 5, The Wire, Gundam SEED (probably not Mwu, alas, since I still get static from having him and Lockon both in my head), Final Fantasy in general, Hellblazer, possibly Berserk. I'll do another prompt sometime after I've watched/read up on more Baccano! and finished Mai-HiME.

1) I want to get back into fanfic writing. I actually want to work on original writing, but first I'd like to get back into the swing of things with some fic.

So, I'm presenting one of my weird-ass fic prompt challenges. This time, I'm putting out two lists. One is the Major Arcana (explanation of their meanings is here); another is a set of song lyrics (generated by flipping randomly through my current set of fifty-two songs). You pick one from each (try to check the comments and pick ones that haven't already been picked, since I won't be able to check this to cross things off the list that often)--two in all. Then give me a character or relationship of any kind (group, platonic, romantic, whatever) and I'll do a ficbit. Or try to. I can't promise they'll all get done, but I'll do my best. So long as you don't ask for FMA or Code Geass; my brain blanks on the former and I won't do the latter. Anything else I'll at least give a try.

I am, as usual, not up to writing an entire full-sized fic as a present. Instead, though, I have decided to write five ficlets in response to a prompt.

a_white_rain gets to provide the prompt and character, group, or pairing for three of them. She gets to nominate two others to provide the prompts and characters, groups, or pairings for the other two.

So I've been thinking on various things I could write--including the next (short, for which my readers will slaughter me) chapter of "Spiral Out." But I'm feeling rather rusty about writing in general. So I decided I'd try to get into the mood with a fic prompt.

I like making up my own prompts (which kind of defeats the purpose, I guess, but whatever). I also got weirded out by hearing a Pogues song being used for a car commercial the other day (especially since it was a song with the lyric "with a heart full of hate and a lust for vomit." I mean, do you really want to associate that with your car?). So I figured I'd do Pogues lyrics for this set of prompts. I don't really have any other excuse. Um. St. Patrick's Day is in a few weeks? Does that count?

Anyway, this is pretty simple. Claim a prompt and give me a character, pairing, platonic relationship, or group from one of my fandoms. I'll write a tinyfic (I can't promise an exact drabble) for it.

And yes, I will now write Berserk fic based on anything up through volume 24.

In less meaningful news, the first round of Naruto Last Character Standing is still ongoing~ I'd like a few more votes before I end it tonight. Yamato and Iruka are in a dead heat, and Anko and Tsunade are awfully close.

Uh. Onto (slightly) less pointless matters: I've decided to do another fic prompt meme. But this time, I'll be providing the prompts; you just pick one that hasn't been used yet and give me character, group, or pairing. I'll write a ficlet for it. You all know my fandoms, and if you don't, that's what this post is for. If this turns out to be more popular than I expect, I'll let two people pick one prompt, but until they're all used up? Pick one that hasn't been chosen yet.

As for the origin of the prompts--well, one of the ways I got through yesterday's service (despite being dazed from fatigue and sick from low blood sugar) was via looking at the siddur and thinking, "What passages here would make good fic prompts?" Yeah, I'm terrible like that. When I got home, I dug out my own home siddur (which isn't quite as detailed and eloquent as the Gates of Repentance prayerbook used for High Holy Days services at synagogue, but oh well) and a few online translations of important prayers, and I pulled lines from those sources.

I don't. But here it is.

I've picked a word for every letter of the alphabet. Comment to claim a word and supply me with a character, pairing, or group; I'll write a tinyfic based around the word in question. Once someone claims a word, it's taken. I'll only do one tinyfic per word. But that leaves room for twenty-six, anyway. It shouldn't be an issue.

Edit: Does anyone know where I can download the new Bleach ED? Not a youtube link, but the real deal. I need decent-quality screencaps, and I don't want to have to download an entire crappy filler to get them.

On the other hand, if I do go through with this embarrassing business of making a YoruSoi moodtheme, I'll have to download some of the fillers anyway.
