Surprisingly enough, most of these have become actual drabbles.

He stopped, looking back at her. "What is it, Inoue-san? We have to get moving..." He had a tense knot of worry already forming in the pit of his stomach.
"Ishida-kun, these robes are torn." She pointed to a small tear down the shoulder of her stolen shinigami garb. "I don't have needle or thread with me..."
"That's not a problem." He produced the requested items with a small, understated flourish.
"Oh! Thank you so much," she said, and she started to take them from him.
He carefully pushed her hands away without a word, threading the needle himself and then sending it whizzing through the motions to sew up the rip. The threads drew tight together and the seam slipped into invisibility. So did his worries, for just a moment. There was something about the way she looked at him that bound them up and hid them away.

Warnings: Character death BECAUSE SHE ASKED FOR IT
He had killed his brother, and now he was running.
Sasuke could still feel the way the flurry of kunai felt flying from his hands as he pinned Itachi with them. The shredded remains of his brother's heart were caught in the fleshy spaces between his fingers. The cool expression on Itachi's face as he tossed Sakura to the ground in a crumpled heap remained burned into Sasuke's mind.
She had been trying to help him. She had helped him, but not in the way she'd intended to. When he saw her fall, broken and still gasping, something had opened in his mind, and he had remembered why he had to kill Itachi.
He was not an avenger; he was a protector. He had to kill his brother to prove he was strong enough to keep the ones he loved safe. He had a purpose once again, and he would attend to it with the same fierceness he had his revenge.
He ran through the forest with Sakura shaking in his arms. "Sasuke-kun, I--"
"Shut up. I'm going to take you back to Konoha. I'll get you healing, and then I'll bring you home."
He stopped for a moment when his breath ran ragged. "It'll be all right. I'll protect you." He stroked her hair back from her forehead and leaned down to brush his mouth against hers.
But after a moment he realized she lay unresponding in his arms, and he could not feel her breath mingle with his.

"After everything--after all that I've done--" Tifa put a fist into the wall. The plaster cracked. "He took her on a date!" She hurled herself onto the bed. "It's not that she's bad. But--"
Vincent sighed. "Why are you in my room again?" He'd been trying to get some sleep despite Cid's snoring in the next room. He thought maybe the Gold Saucer should invest in thicker walls.
"Oh," she said. "That's right. I thought of something better to do than sit around whining."
She reached out, grabbed his hair, and dragged him close for a kiss.

Some days, Cid admitted to himself what he knew in his heart: he couldn't live without his tea.
On those days, he found himself bent over the cup of tea without drinking it, entranced by the flow of steam. He could drown in that deep brown pool.
He was convinced his tea held all the secrets of the universe, just waiting for him to ask in the perfect tone of voice, or for him to express his love in the right terms.
Then he snapped out of it and yelled, "Shera! What did you put in the damn tea today?!"
Title: Butterfly Moment
Requested By: selphish
Kissing Orihime was like cupping a butterfly in her hands.
When their lips met, it was the perfect moment. Their awkwardness only made the kiss all the sweeter.
But it was so evanescent. At first Tatsuki regretted that, wished the moment could go on forever with the two of them gathered together in its arms. It was not until many kisses later that she realized it was their transience that made them so perfect.
Orihime tilted her head just a little, and her eyelashes fluttered against Tatsuki's cheek like delicate wings. Then she pulled away, and the kiss was over.

"That's not how you grow flowers," she said.
"What? I've been watering it, looking after it, making sure nothing messes it up. Am I not supposed to carry it around? But..." He cast his gaze down awkwardly. "Its name is Drizzle. I like naming things after types of rain." He smiled at her.
"You gave it a name?" She could not bring herself to be surprised. "All right." She gave in to the urge to put her arms around him. "I suppose I'm the flower expert around here for a reason. But for a beginner, you're not doing too bad."

There were many things the new Greed wanted. Information was one of them.
He wanted to know why he sometimes staggered when his vision blurred, though it was usually fine. He could have told that person and probably gotten it fixed, but he hoarded the knowledge.
He wanted to know about the reflexes that came with his body. Why did he reach for his pockets when he met someone, and why did he shake out his sleeves when threatened?
He wanted to know why, when Lust pulled his naked body to hers, he felt guilt run so hot through him.

They wound up standing side by side in front of the dim stairway, preparing to go down and face the Hellmouth as it yawned open.
"You know, John," Buffy said, "this would have been way easier if you'd just stayed the hell out of my town in the first place."
"Mmm," he said, considering. "Maybe so, love, but would it have been anywhere near as exciting?"
"Exciting?" she repeated in disbelief.
"Yeah," he said with far too much of a grin. "Now give us a kiss, will you?"
She spent a moment deciding whether to oblige, or just slap him.

"It's a strawberry."
Jayne busied himself picking out tiny patterns in the floor. "Well, I heard it was gonna be your birthday soon," he said, "And I had a little extra money to be spendin'. So I figgered I oughta get you something."
Hey, God, he thought, </i>I ain't turnin' into the prayin' type like that gorram Shepherd, but--do me this one favor and don't let her ask about how I got the extra cash?</i>
Kaylee didn't ask. She just leaped up to fling her arms around his neck and plant a kiss right on his mouth. "Thank you!"
